I’m Olha Protasova, an illustrator and lettering artist, specialising in hand-sculpted plasticine visuals.
I combine conceptual sculpting, photography and retouching to create tactile images for brand campaigns and product storytelling.
My work is rooted in craft, attention to detail, and a people-first approach to design— I create visuals that feel human, emotionally grounded, and precise in execution.

Each illustration begins as a hand-sculpted object and becomes a production-ready image through photography and careful retouching. Working with this technique since 2011, I specialize in translating tactile, human qualities into visuals for brands, products, publishing, and licensing.

Why plasticine?
I didn’t grow up obsessed with plasticine.
I was drawn to graphic design, illustration and lettering — and especially photography.
After studying graphic design in Kyiv, Ukraine, I worked as a designer and art director before going freelance in 2010. It was during that time, experimenting with lettering and different materials, that I discovered plasticine as a medium.
My first placticine works were quickly commissioned and published as a promotional series for a national restaurant chain in 2011 with the print run around 20 000 copies.
Since then, I worked with some major clients in advertising, retail, editorial and publishing.
So why plasticine? This material is my infinite inspiration source.
